Ethiopost is expanding its mobile financial services nationwide through a partnership with M-PESA
Ethiopost has entered into a strategic partnership with M-PESA ETHIOPIA under a master agent agreement to expand access to mobile financial services throughout Ethiopia. Under this partnership, Ethiopost will serve as a master agent within the M-PESA ecosystem, combining the reach of one of Ethiopia’s most trusted public institutions with the convenience of mobile financial services.
Leveraging its extensive branch network, Ethiopost will provide M-PESA services at its locations, supported by a growing network of agents. Customers will be able to perform basic transactions—including cash deposits, withdrawals, and digital payments—with the assistance of staff, at locations closer to their homes and workplaces.
This partnership not only increases access to services for consumers but also creates new business opportunities for agents and sub-agents through commission-based services. This initiative underscores both organizations’ commitment to promoting financial inclusion and accelerating the development of the digital economy in Ethiopia, thereby making modern financial services more widely available throughout the country.
