Klarna and DNA launch interest-free device financing in Finland
Klarna has partnered with Finnish telecoms operator DNA to offer customers interest-free, fee-free financing for smartphones, tablets and other devices. Customers can spread payments over a period of up to three years.
Financing at the point of purchase
Through the DNA Koroton concept, customers apply for Klarna credit when they buy a device from DNA. DNA covers the interest and fees. Klarna provides the credit and manages the related invoicing and customer service.
Mikko Valtonen, Vice President of DNA’s mobile business, said smartphones, tablets and other devices play an important role in everyday life and can be significant purchases. DNA aims to keep offering customers a flexible way to buy the devices they need without interest or fees.
Oskari Rekola, Head of Finland at Klarna, noted that a new phone or tablet is often one of the larger purchases people make. Customers value knowing how much they will pay and when. The partnership is intended to give customers across Finland a simple, transparent way to spread the cost of everyday devices, with repayment terms set in advance.
Roles of the operator and lender
DNA remains responsible for device sales, delivery and warranties. Klarna handles the credit and its servicing. DNA is part of Telenor Group and has around 3.7 million subscriptions across its fixed and mobile networks.
The company provides connections, services and devices for homes and workplaces. It reported revenue of EUR 1.128 billion in 2025 and employs about 1,600 people in Finland.
Klarna’s European expansion
Klarna has more than 120 million active users worldwide, processes 3.8 million transactions a day and works with more than 1.2 million retailers. Customers can use Klarna online, in stores, and through Apple Pay and Google Pay. The company is listed on the New York Stock Exchange.
The DNA agreement adds to Klarna’s expansion across Europe. Its partnerships also include Lands’ End in the UK, Germany, Austria and France.
