Mollie launches revenue-based financing in Spain

Netherlands-based Mollie has launched Mollie Capital in Spain. The service offers local businesses revenue-based financing of between EUR 500 and EUR 500,000.

Funding amounts are calculated using current sales performance. Mollie sets one flat fee at the outset, while repayments adjust in line with daily sales. Businesses can use the funds to buy inventory, hire staff, or open a new sales channel.

How the financing works

Mollie Capital is available to businesses that process payments through Mollie. Offers are based on sales performance rather than a standard bank application or credit check. Eligible businesses receive a financing offer in their Mollie dashboard.

Mollie assesses eligibility using each business’s sales history with the company. The amount available depends on factors including the markets where the business operates and its previous sales volumes processed through Mollie.

From the Benelux to Spain

Mollie introduced Mollie Capital in September 2022, describing it as the company’s first move into financial services beyond payment processing. The service was initially available to selected businesses in the Netherlands and Belgium. Advances were capped at EUR 250,000, with amounts based partly on each merchant’s transaction history with Mollie.

The expansion follows Mollie’s entry into the Spanish market in November 2025. At the time, the company said Spain’s digital economy was worth more than EUR 95 billion. It also introduced local payment methods, including Bizum, and integrations with WooCommerce, Shopify, PrestaShop, and Magento.

Expanding the local offer

Adding financing to its Spanish offer extends Mollie’s local proposition from payment acceptance to financing products. The company previously followed a similar path in its home markets.

Founded in the Netherlands in 2004, Mollie serves more than 250,000 businesses across over 30 European markets. Mollie B.V. is licensed as an electronic money institution by the Dutch Central Bank.
