Vodafone Egypt and TapTap Send are launching an international money transfer service to Vodafone Cash wallets

Vodafone Egypt has announced a strategic partnership with TapTap Send, one of the world’s leading international money transfer platforms, enabling instant and secure transfers from over 30 countries directly to Vodafone Cash wallets in Egypt. This partnership aligns with Vodafone Egypt’s strategy to simplify payments and digital services, while strengthening Vodafone Cash’s position as the most trusted digital wallet for international money transfers in the Egyptian market. It also supports financial inclusion efforts and serves millions of families who rely on remittances from relatives abroad, particularly from the UK, the EU, the US, the United Arab Emirates, Canada, and Australia.

Thanks to this partnership, Egyptians living in countries participating in the program can send money to their families in Egypt more quickly and conveniently using direct transfers to Vodafone Cash wallets, without having to visit banks or use traditional money transfer channels. This partnership is being established against the backdrop of rapid growth in remittances from Egypt. According to data from the Central Bank of Egypt (CBE), the value of remittances from Egyptians working abroad reached a record high in 2025, rising by 40.5% to approximately $41.5 billion, compared to $29.6 billion in 2024. Furthermore, in the first half of the 2025/2026 fiscal year, the value of remittances rose by 29.6% to approximately $22.1 billion, compared to $17.1 billion in the same period of 2024.
