YeePay secures EMI licence from Dutch central bank

YeePay has been granted an electronic money institution licence by De Nederlandsche Bank, the Dutch central bank. The payments technology company serves B2B and enterprise customers and sees the approval as part of its European expansion.

The Dutch licence follows the EMI authorisation YeePay received from the UK Financial Conduct Authority earlier in 2026. The company now has two regulated bases in Europe.

Licence supports collections, payouts and FX services

According to YeePay, the DNB licence strengthens its ability to provide localised payment services to businesses operating internationally, subject to applicable regulatory requirements. The company plans to combine local regulatory capabilities and financial infrastructure with its global payments network.

Its European offering is expected to include global collections and payouts, local accounts and multi-currency foreign exchange services. YeePay says its network covers more than 200 countries and regions and supports real-time FX across more than 100 currencies.

ClearBank supports YeePay's European payment infrastructure

The approval follows YeePay's decision in April 2026 to select ClearBank as its safeguarding bank in the UK and Europe. The partnership was designed to support YeePay's EMI applications with both the Financial Conduct Authority and De Nederlandsche Bank.

Under the agreement, ClearBank's infrastructure is expected to provide YeePay with indirect access to UK and European payment schemes after regulatory approvals. This will also enable YeePay to issue named local virtual IBANs to merchant customers.

YeePay expands its international regulatory footprint

The Dutch EMI licence adds to YeePay's existing portfolio of licences and registrations. These include a Money Service Operator licence in Hong Kong, a Money Services Business registration in the US and a money transmitter registration in Mexico.

The company also holds Securities and Futures Commission licences in Hong Kong for Type 1, 4 and 9 regulated activities, alongside its EMI licences in the UK and the Netherlands.

YeePay processes more than USD 720 billion annually

YeePay processes more than USD 720 billion in transactions each year. The company plans to deepen partnerships with financial institutions as it expands its cross-border payment capabilities.

Terry, Senior Vice President of YeePay, said the DNB licence is an important milestone in the company's European strategy. Together with the UK licence, it is expected to strengthen YeePay's local presence and regulated service capabilities in Europe.

YeePay aims to provide international customers with a single payment solution for cross-border trade, including support for fund flows, transaction costs and expansion into European and other international markets.
