Thunes is introducing payments via stablecoins and local wallets as part of a global employee compensation system
Thunes, a smart platform for global money transfers, has launched a solution enabling direct cross-border payments to employees, allowing companies to instantly pay salaries to remote teams working abroad, freelancers, and gig workers.
Thunes enables real-time compensation payments to 12 billion bank accounts, mobile wallets, and stablecoin wallets in 140 countries, 24 hours a day, seven days a week. The solution is accessible via a single API, eliminating the need for multiple integrations or complex technical configurations.
Slow and fragmented cross-border payment systems pose a challenge to the global digital economy, and 90% of gig workers prioritize quick access to their funds when choosing payment systems.
Thunes eliminates these obstacles by connecting businesses directly to local payment systems such as M-Pesa, Alipay, and GCash, thereby increasing convenience and access to funds. Furthermore, workers in markets where local currencies are subject to significant fluctuations can receive their wages in stablecoins, ensuring that the value of their work remains constant despite exchange rate volatility.
By streamlining complex global logistics into a single network, Thunes helps companies pay employees on demand, exactly when and where they need it.
This solution is already delivering significant benefits to Thunes members involved in international payroll processing, managing global gig economy platforms, facilitating fast refunds in e-commerce, and handling insurance claims, as well as to non-governmental organizations operating in hard-to-reach payment markets.
“Managing payroll for a global remote workforce is complex, especially in a rapidly changing environment where there is a growing demand for alternative solutions, such as payments in stablecoins.
